The Jimmerosity Foundation donated a Lifetime basketball hoop to a Mount Mahogany Elementary family at Talon’s Cove Golf Course on Friday, September 11, 2026. Former basketball star Jimmer Fredette presented the hoop to the Davies family following the 14th Annual Jimmerosity Invitational golf tournament. In addition to the basketball hoop, the foundation donated signed basketballs and t-shirts to Mount Mahogany Elementary for an upcoming silent auction fundraiser.
"We were honored to attend a special Jimmerosity Foundation event at Talon’s Cove Golf Course, where Jimmer Fredette helped make a lasting difference for one of our school families," said Mount Mahogany Elementary Principal Jeff Clark. Clark added that Fredette "generously donated a lifetime basketball hoop to the Davies family and their five children, giving them a place to play, connect, and create memories for years to come."
Golf Tournament Tradition Gives Back to District Families
During the tournament, partner company Lifetime provides a basketball hoop standard for a shooting contest hosted on the first hole, which is then donated to a local district family following the event.
"We have a Jimmer-range competition on hole one where guys get to shoot when they go through,” Fredette said. “And then afterwards we donate it to a family that would really enjoy it."
Fredette noted that donating the hoop is a highlight of the annual tournament.
"It's always one of my favorite things to see the families come out and get to bring home something that they didn't have before," Fredette said. "And hopefully they get to enjoy it, be outside, play, have some fun with each other. It's a really cool thing."
Building Cultures of Kindness Across Schools
The gift aligns with the foundation’s Choose Kindness program, an initiative operating in more than 350 schools across 23 states. The program encourages students to foster inclusive environments within their local school communities.
"Our main program is Choose Kindness. We're all over the country, trying to create cultures of kindness, whether it's in school districts or hopefully going towards businesses and different workplaces," Fredette said. "I think everybody can use a little bit of kindness in their lives. So that's what we're trying to promote and do."
Fredette emphasized that small, positive actions between students make the biggest impact.
"When you hear stories of inclusivity that is happening, just little things where someone is being bullied or whatever and other kids are wrapping their arms around them, inviting them to their playdates or to lunch or whatever it is," Fredette said. "Those are the things that matter to us. Those are the small things that change kids' lives in a positive way."
Bringing Joy Home
The gift provided immediate excitement for the Davies family as they set up the basketball standard at home.
"We are so grateful that we were even thought of for this generous gift!" said Sierra Davies, mother of the recipient family. "Our kids have been playing basketball nonstop since we got the hoop set up at home."
Davies also expressed appreciation for the donation and its positive impact on her family.
"Thank you so much for the kindness and generosity of everyone from Jimmerosity!" Davies said. "We had such a wonderful experience and are so excited to see how basketball continues to bring our family joy for years to come."
Principal Clark expressed gratitude for the foundation’s support of both the Davies family and Mount Mahogany Elementary.
"We are incredibly grateful to Jimmer and the Jimmerosity Foundation for their generosity, kindness, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of children and families in our community," Clark said.
